From timelines and logistics, to loving others well. Welcome to my blog.
WELCOME, I'M madelynI!
Hello to all of our people! Whew, it has been a while and a lot of life has happened since our last blog post! First, a little booking update for Madelyn Tenney Events: we have a few more weddings in 2023 and then are almost FULLY BOOKED for 2024. We also have a few 2025 weddings on the books… I know! We have almost fully made the transition from just coordinating to partial planning and design, which has been so incredibly fun. This year, we have developed many vendor relationships and even ventured into a partnership with a watercolor artist who creates custom crests and patterns for our brides. (Our design signature!) An incredible photographer (shoutout Shelby Mosteller) took our team pictures at Walnut Hill Farm and we took a 3-day team retreat to Chattanooga, Tennessee! We have been so blessed.
In other exciting news.. three of our Madelyn Tenney Events planner’s have gotten engaged in the past few months!! Ah! Our worlds are colliding, and our team was never been more excited. Now, I know you want to hear all about the three engagements of Dori, Avery, and Madelyn (me!) Here are all the juicy details:
Brock and Dori: Dori was the first out of the three to get engaged in May. She has been dating her fiance Brock since high school, and he now serves in the US Military. After not seeing each other for months, she couldn’t wait for him to get back. And you can only imagine her excitement when he asked her on a dinner date at his return! Dori thought she was just getting ready for dinner, but had no clue what was in store. He told her that he needed to stop at his property on the way to dinner to scatter some seed for hunting purposes. So obviously, Dori was confused when he told her to get out of the car. Brock led her over to the incredible setup nested in the fields of North Georgia and dropped to one knee. Out of the three of us, Dori was the most surprised. She had literally no clue. The night continued on, and Brock took Dori to her surprise engagement party in her hometown. Dori’s wedding is set to take place next summer in North Georgia, and we can’t wait!
Dori says, “Right now we are focusing on the big picture. Getting all vendors booked, guest list, formality, etc. The first step that we always tell our brides is to get the date/venue and photographer booked, and then the rest will fall into place. That has been especially true for me.”
Coleman and Avery: Avery and Coleman also met in high school, but their story was a little different. They both did dual enrollment at the same college. After dating for months, Coleman signed with the Los Angeles Angels Baseball Organization and Avery went to college. Coleman traveled all over the United States playing baseball. This past spring, he was playing for The Rocket City Trash Pandas, which is the Angels Double-A affiliate team. In May, Avery thought she was going to a team dinner at a local golf course. Somehow, Coleman kept an incredible poker face throughout the hour-long drive to their destination. Right at sunset, just as he had planned, Coleman pulled up to a gorgeous overlook where the photographer and his setup were both waiting. When Avery stepped out of the car, she immediately knew what was happening. He took her by the hands and led her to a breathtaking view overlooking the rolling hills and rivers of Alabama. Coleman dropped to one knee and asked Avery to be his wife. An hour away, all of their closest friends and family were waiting at a cute rooftop bar in Huntsville. The celebration that followed was one that will be remembered for a lifetime. Avery and Coleman will be married at a beautiful estate in South Georgia next fall. (In his off-season!)
“The venue that we have always dreamed of using was unfortunately destroyed in a tornado this past year. For Coleman and I, we have had to learn to be flexible and truly trust in the Lord’s timing. Being a part of Madelyn Tenney Events has taught me how to be able to adapt to various challenges that come with planning such an intricate event.” -Avery
Will and Maddie: Will and Maddie met when they were in high school at just 16 and 17 years old. That football season came and went, but they held onto each other. In 2019, Will graduated high school and moved away to college. To this day, they are still “long-distance” dating. Last fall, Will applied to work at the British Open Golf Tournament. He was notified that he got the job in June, and he planned a long-awaited trip to England. He was adamant that Maddie should tag along, and now she knows why! After a long flight and a few VERY jetlagged days complete with lots of sightseeing and energy drinks, Will told Maddie to start thinking about what she wanted to wear to a fancy dinner on the last night of the trip. He took her all around the city in a taxi, passing Buckingham Palace and other once-in-a-lifetime views. On July 25th, 2023, Will asked Maddie to marry him in London, England in front of Westminster Abbey. It was magical and like something out of a fairytale. Thank goodness for football goodie bags and high school love!! They will be married in the fall of 2024 on Saint Simons Island.
As you now know, these past few months have been some that we will cherish our entire lives. We would love for you to be in prayer for our business, our engagements, and our future marriages. Thank you for following our stories – we love you all and can never thank you enough for the support.
Xoxo, Madelyn
