In the Vines: A Chateau Elan Love Story

The vision

There is something so timeless about a spring wedding at Château Élan Winery & Resort. The rolling vineyards, soft greens, and blooming florals create the most romantic setting, and Abby and Robert’s April 18, 2026 wedding embraced all of that beauty in the most intentional way.

From the very beginning, their vision was centered around creating a day that felt personal, joyful, and deeply meaningful. As two physicians; Abby a pediatric doctor and Robert an ER doctor; their lives are rooted in caring for others, and that same warmth carried into every part of their wedding day.

Having both attended the University of Georgia, their story is one built on shared experiences, friendships, and a strong foundation. It was important to them that their wedding reflected not only their love for each other, but also the people and moments that shaped their relationship along the way.

When we asked Abby what mattered most to her, her answer was simple: she just wanted everyone to feel that love and have a great time. That intention truly set the tone for the entire day.

They wanted the celebration to feel elevated yet welcoming, design-forward but still organic, and most of all, a night their guests would never forget. Abby and Robert were such a joy to work with throughout the entire planning process; their excitement, trust, and energy made every step leading up to the wedding just as special as the day itself.

The Design

The design for Abby and Robert’s wedding was rooted in a refined garden aesthetic. We leaned into a palette of muted greens with subtle touches of soft blue, creating a look that felt fresh, romantic, and effortlessly timeless.

Hydrangeas played a major role throughout the day, bringing fullness and softness to each space while perfectly complementing the vineyard setting. The ceremony, set between the vines, felt Tuscan-inspired; natural, serene, and incredibly picturesque.

For the reception, the pavilion was completely transformed. We draped the entire ceiling and every wall, creating a fully immersive environment that felt entirely different from the outdoor ceremony space. The layers of fabric softened the room and elevated the overall atmosphere into something truly special.

To maintain a connection to the winery, we intentionally left two large wine barrels uncovered within the space, adding warmth and authenticity to the design.

One of the most meaningful design elements was the escort card display. Instead of a traditional seating chart, each guest found their place through a photo that represented where Abby or Robert had met them. It was thoughtful, interactive, and such a personal way to honor their relationships.

The custom striped dance floor brought a bold and playful element into the space, quickly becoming the heart of the reception.

The Ceremony

Abby and Robert’s ceremony was incredibly sweet and heartfelt. Set among the vines, the entire space felt calm, intimate, and full of intention.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows in a setting that felt both romantic and deeply personal. The natural beauty of the vineyard paired with the soft garden-inspired design created a ceremony that was as meaningful as it was beautiful.

The Reception

As guests moved into the pavilion, the energy of the day shifted into full celebration.

From the moment the music began, the dance floor was completely electric. True to Abby’s wish, guests were dancing all night long; there was not a single moment where the floor was empty. The energy in the room was contagious, creating an atmosphere that felt joyful, lively, and unforgettable.

An espresso bar added a fun late-night touch, keeping guests energized and adding an interactive experience everyone loved.

In honor of Robert’s Romanian heritage, the celebration continued well beyond the reception. Guests joined in a lively second line that led everyone out to the after party, creating such a fun and seamless transition into the next part of the evening. The festivities carried into the following day as well, with a second wedding celebration honoring his family’s traditions.

Favorite Moments From The Day

There were so many moments that made this day unforgettable.

The vineyard ceremony felt like something out of Tuscany. The escort card display told such a meaningful story of Abby and Robert’s relationships. The fully draped reception space was a complete transformation that wowed guests from the moment they walked in.

And of course, the dance floor—packed from start to finish—followed by the most fun second line exit into the after party.

Abby and Robert’s wedding was the perfect blend of intentional design, meaningful details, and incredible energy. Every element reflected who they are; not only as a couple, but as people who care deeply about creating meaningful experiences for those around them.

From a romantic ceremony among the vines to a reception filled with nonstop dancing, their day was a true celebration in every sense of the word.
